Safety Features

  • SmoothStart – On acceleration, power is applied to the drive tires in a controlled manner ensuring a smooth start each time.
  • HillSense – Allows the cart to be safely used on inclines and declines.  The cart will travel at the speed set by the user, not by the incline or decline.
  • AutoLock – An automatic parking brake locks the wheels when the throttle is not being applied.  This feature prevents the cart from rolling away from the user and also provides easy loading and unloading on inclines and declines.
  • Emergency Stop – The red E-Stop button allows the user to immediately stop the progress of the cart.
  • Four Wheel Design – All Overland Carts have at least four wheels to provide maximum stability.
  • Overload Fuse – There is a built in overload fuse that measures the inputs of the drive system in real time.  If the incline, load, or terrain begins to overwork the motor, a fuse will stop the cart and prevent any damage to the transaxle.
  • Throttle Controlled Braking – The braking is controlled by the throttle, simply let up on the throttle and the cart will slow down to the desired speed.  To brake is automatically applied.
  • Throttle Defaults to Zero MPH – If the throttle is released for any reason, the throttle will automatically return to the zero MPH position and the cart will safely coast to a stop.  AutoLock will then engage and the cart will be secure.
  • No open gears, belts, or hot components – The design of the cart keeps hands safe and prevents possible burns caused by hot engine components.
  • Tested Over Time – Overland Cart has been developing and building carts for 10 years.  We know our carts and have developed them to be as safe as possible.

Additional Features

  • Heavy Duty Hopper – Brentwood Buckets are the best in the wheelbarrow industry. Made in the USA from high density polyethylene.  Hopper dimensions: 20″H x 36″W x 45″L
  • Four Wheel Drive – Dual drive axles, and dual ag tires on the front and rear provide exceptional grip.
  • Easy Start – Simply pull out the red E-stop button on the handle and the cart is immediately ready to drive.
  • Variable Speed Twist Throttle – Similar to a motorcycle throttle.  Very easy to use and to control the speed.
  • Enclosed Gear Box – Gears are enclosed for maximum safety and durability.  The transaxle is sealed for life and does not require any maintenance.
  • Manual Mode – Allows the cart to be operated without battery power.
  • Forward/Reverse – Direction can be selected from the toggle switch on the handlebar.  The cart travels the same speed in either direction.
  • Near Silent Operation – The electric drive system is almost silent in its operation.
  • IMPROVED Battery Life – 6-8 hours of run time on a standard battery.
  • 110V Off Board Charger – Charge the cart with an extension cord or plug it right in the wall.
  • Battery Life Indicator – LED lights ensure you always know the current battery status
  • Powder Coated Frame – The chassis is welded and powder coated in house for lasting finish
  • Heavy Duty 13″ Flat Free Drive Tires – Complete with a steel hub and heavy duty flat free tires.
  • Rechargeable AGM Sealed Lead Acid Batteries – Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are the most advanced batteries on the market and offer a spill-proof design.
  • Removable Rechargeable Battery Pack – Quickly swap batteries or remove the battery to charge it.
  • Patented Design – Our carts feature patented designs and components.  Ensuring top tier build quality and design on all genuine Overland Carts.

Overland Tire Options

  • 13″ Flat Free Dual Ag Tires – Our best performing and most popular tire. The dual ag design works well for all applications, especially where maximum traction is desired.  The semi-pneumatic tire features a thick molded outer core with a hollow center.  The tires do not require inflation and cannot be punctured. The width from the tires is measured as 33″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart.

Is the dump bucket of the Overland Electric Wheelbarrow – 10 cu. ft. with 4WD and Extended Range Battery interchangeable with the Trash Utility Hopper?

Support
Jeremy Rupp
4 years 11 months ago

Hi Craig, the Trash Utility Hopper will fit on the 4WD chassis without power dump. We have not tested this combination in house so there may be some issue with the hopper dumping completely and also with the quick release pin locking. It may require some modifications but the hopper and steel base (PN: 70128) will fit on top of the 4WD chassis. If you have further questions feel free to reply to this post or give us a call: 877-447-2648. Thanks!

We have a wood shed 100 yd. from house and often haul fireplace wood during winter. Will the 4wd handle 10 in of snow? Also, how does battery get affected by cold weather?

Hi John, while we have tested our 4WD in snow, we have not tested our carts in 10 inches of snow. Below is a video of our cart in about 4 inches of snow. The cart did quite well in that application but we wouldn’t formally rate our carts much past that. We sell our carts all around the USA and to Canada and they work well in a variety of environments. In cold weather, we do recommend storing the cart or battery pack indoors and charging the battery indoors as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMbSb4KO2l0

What % of slope can the 4WD cart handle?

Support
Jeremy Rupp
4 years 17 days ago

Hi Patrick, our 4WD Carts feature two independent drive axles which help the cart perform well on inclines. We would rate our 4WD at 350 pounds on an 15 degree slope. This is always variable based on the length of the slope and the terrain. There is an overload fuse that manages the transaxle in real time and will need to be reset if the transaxle senses that it is being overworked. This is an indicator to reduce the load amount for the next trip. Here’s a video of us testing our 4WD on some rougher terrain: https://youtu.be/yJ9xkY69Y8g If you have any additional questions please let us know: 877-447-2648 or email us at: support@graniteind.com. We have a Overland Electric Wheelbarrow 10 cu ft with extended range being delivered to our house. How should we take it out of the crate and how should we start it the first time out of the box? How big is the box and what does the box weigh? How do we start it when it is the box. Is the deliver truck just going to drop off a big box and leave or will he open it and then we can start it and drive it out of the box ?

Hi Steve and Pat,

Great questions! The cart will ship full assembled in a custom wooden crate on top of a pallet. The crate is fastened together by screws that can be removed with a drill and either a Phillips #2 bit or a #2 square bit. A crowbar may be helpful as well. The crate dimensions for most Overland Carts are about 80″L x 40″W x 45″H. The wheelbarrow comes fully assembled with a charged battery. The cart can be used from the moment it arrives, although we do recommend charging the cart overnight on the first day it arrives. The delivery truck will drop the cart off by lowering it to the ground with “lift gate service”. Once it arrives, please take time to inspect the cart for any obvious visual shipping damage. For more information on how to inspect, unpack and start using your cart, please see your quick start guide: https://www.overlandcarts.com/pdfs/Overland-Jump-Start.pdf

Ready to order a 4wd, dual tire 10 cu ft with extended range battery. Few questions: does the charging system automatically stop charging when battery is fully charged so not to over charge the batteries. Also are these units universal? in that if you come up with new attachments in the future we can just add to what we have?

Hi George, good questions! yes, the charging system is designed to prevent overcharging the batteries. We use a high end 3 stage charger that is designed to optimize both charge time and long term battery health. The charger will automatically go to a trickle charge once the battery pack is fully charged to ensure the batteries are fully topped off and ready to go. We do our absolute best to ensure maximum compatibility with our carts and new attachments. We can’t guarantee that every new attachment will work with our older carts, but do try. If you have any other questions, please let us know! Phone: 877-447-2648 / Email: support@graniteind.com

Fully loaded what degree uphill can it climb?

Support
Jeremy Rupp
2 years 4 months ago

Hi Jerry, the capacity depends based on the terrain type (grass or pavement), angle, and length. This is a video of our 4WD in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ9xkY69Y8g. We recommend 200-300 lb for most inclines up to 15 degrees. All carts come with an overload fuse that measure the transaxle load in real time. So you can always load up the cart and the cart will let you know if it’s being overloaded based on your application. If you have additional questions please contact us via phone: 877-447-2648 or via email: support@graniteind.com.

I have a steep slope that I bring dirt and rocks up. This 4wd version seems to be a good choice but then I saw your newer model 950 it also has 10cu but no 4wd. The 950 has a better batter life, but I could always buy s second battery. But which would be better for steep slopes with heavy loads. What is the real differences between the 2.

Hi Mike, in your application we would recommend the 950 series. It has better performance on inclines and also has improved maneuverability since the rear wheels swivel. If you have further questions, we’d be happy to help you! Our phone number is: 877-447-2648. Thank you!
