Overland 9 cubic foot Electric Powered Wagon

Ideal for large bulky items: bags of feed, fertilizer, grass seed, dirt, mulch or landscaping stone. This powerful wagon has a large 9 cubic foot wagon style hopper which swings on a hinge to be lifted and dumped. You’ll be able to haul around up to 750 pounds and not break your back. Simply drive the cart by using the twist throttle and walk behind at up to 2.4 miles per hour. The four wheels make this more stable and much easier to handle than a typical wheelbarrow. Hinged tub lifts and dumps easily, and locks in place when not in use.

**Overland Carts ship fully assembled via Freight Carrier/Common Carrier**
**Lift Gate service is required for MOST residential customers as it lowers the product to the ground**

Safety Features

  • SmoothStart – On acceleration, power is applied to the drive tires in a controlled manner ensuring a smooth start each time.
  • HillSense – Allows the cart to be safely used on inclines and declines.  The cart will travel at the speed set by the user, not by the incline or decline.
  • AutoLock – An automatic parking brake locks the wheels when the throttle is not being applied.  This feature prevents the cart from rolling away from the user and also provides easy loading and unloading on inclines and declines.
  • Emergency Stop – The red E-Stop button allows the user to immediately stop the progress of the cart.
  • Four Wheel Design – All Overland Carts have at least four wheels to provide maximum stability.
  • Overload Fuse – There is a built in overload fuse that measures the inputs of the drive system in real time.  If the incline, load, or terrain begins to overwork the motor, a fuse will stop the cart and prevent any damage to the transaxle.
  • Throttle Controlled Braking – The braking is controlled by the throttle, simply let up on the throttle and the cart will slow down to the desired speed.  To brake is automatically applied.
  • Throttle Defaults to Zero MPH – If the throttle is released for any reason, the throttle will automatically return to the zero MPH position and the cart will safely coast to a stop.  AutoLock will then engage and the cart will be secure.
  • No open gears, belts, or hot components – The design of the cart keeps hands safe and prevents possible burns caused by hot engine components.
  • Tested Over Time – Overland Cart has been developing and building carts for 10 years.  We know our carts and have developed them to be as safe as possible.

Additional Features

  • Heavy Duty Dumping Hopper – Brentwood Buckets are the best in the wheelbarrow industry. Made in the USA from high density polyethylene.  Hopper dimensions: 14″H x 36’W x 62″D
  • Easy Start – Simply pull out the red E-stop button on the handle and the cart is immediately ready to drive.
  • Variable Speed Twist Throttle – Similar to a motorcycle throttle.  Very easy to use and to control the speed.
  • Enclosed Gear Box – Gears are enclosed for maximum safety and durability.  The transaxle is sealed for life and does not require any maintenance.
  • Manual Mode – Allows the cart to be operated without battery power.
  • Forward/Reverse – Direction can be selected from the toggle switch on the handlebar.  The cart travels the same speed in either direction.
  • Zero Turn Radius – The open differential allows the cart to be spun in a circle without power being applied, allowing for a true zero turn radius.
  • Near Silent Operation – The electric drive system is almost silent in its operation.
  • IMPROVED Battery Life – 6-8 hours of run time on a standard battery.
  • 110V Off Board Charger – Charge the cart with an extension cord or plug it right in the wall.
  • Battery Life Indicator – LED lights ensure you always know the current battery status
  • Powder Coated Frame – The chassis is welded and powder coated in house for lasting finish
  • Heavy Duty 13″ Drive Tires – Complete with a steel hub and heavy duty wheels.
  • 10″ Rear No Flat Swivel Casters – Foam filled heavy duty swivel wheels.
  • Rechargeable AGM Sealed Lead Acid Batteries – Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are the most advanced batteries on the market and offer a spill-proof design.
  • Removable Rechargeable Battery Pack – Quickly swap batteries or remove the battery to charge it.
  • Patented Design – Our carts feature patented designs and components.  Ensuring top tier build quality and design on all genuine Overland Carts.

Overland Tire Options

  • 13″ Flat Free Dual Ag Tire – Features all the benefits of our pneumatic dual ag tire, but with the advantage of flat free construction. The semi-pneumatic tire features a thick molded outer core with a hollow center.  This tires does not require inflation and cannot be punctured. The width from the tires is measured as 33″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart.
  • 13″ Flat Free Turf Tire – Recommended tire for flat surfaces and indoor use where cart width is important. The width from the tires is measured as 24″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart.
  • 13″ Pneumatic Single Ag Tire – Recommended where more traction is needed than turf tires but cart width is still important. The width from the tires is measured as 24″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart.

what are the dimensions of the hopper at the bottom where it is flat?
How far from the top of the hopper to the ground?

Hi Brian, the top of the metal chassis is about 14″ from the ground. The hopper dimensions are: 14″H x 36’W x 62″D. So the total height of the 9 cu. ft. hopper from the ground is about 28 inches.

Could you please specify the length and width dimensions of the BED (bottom) of the hopper, on the inside? (in case a rectangular bin were placed inside the hopper)?

The width w/ a single tire is 36″

The dual ag tires are 33″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart. The width of the hopper is 36″. Each dual ag tire measures 13″ in diameter with a width of 8″. The single ag tires and turf tires both result in a an overall width of 24″ from tire edge to tire edge when mounted on the cart. The single ag tire and turf tire are both 13″ in diameter by 4″ wide.

Can it go up a slightly steeper section of a hill w/ a load lesser than 500#?

Support
Jeremy Rupp
4 years 11 months ago

Hi Bob, we do not have a rating past the 1:3 slope, however, each cart comes with an overload fuse that measures the performance of the cart in real time. If the terrain, load, or incline are overworking the transaxle, the overload button will pop and need to be reset. That is an indicator that the load needs to be decreased before continuing.

What is the turning radius? If I find that it won’t take a short hill on a concrete walk, can I return w/ a restock fee?

Support
Jeremy Rupp
4 years 9 months ago

Hi Bob, the C44-9A has a zero turn radius. The differential is open and the rear casters swivel so the cart can be spun in a complete circle without applying any power. This is demonstrated at the 1 minute 40 second mark of this video: https://youtu.be/EN4EzG22yD0?t=100 . If for some reason the cart does not perform to your expectations you can return the cart to us within 15 days of receiving the cart. The customer is responsible for return freight. Upon receiving the cart we will inspect the cart for damage. If a component needs to be replaced we will charge that as a restock fee.

Can I turn the cart around w/o power? Is it difficult to push when power is not on?

Hi Bob, the C44-9A has a zero turn radius. The differential is open and the rear casters swivel so the cart can be spun in a complete circle without applying any power. This is demonstrated at the 1 minute 40 second mark of this video: https://youtu.be/EN4EzG22yD0?t=100. The cart can be put in “free wheel mode” and the cart is not difficult to push in that mode. There is a feature that prevents the cart from being pushed too fast, but that feature can be disabled.

How do you disengage and put it in free wheel mode?

Support
Jeremy Rupp

Hi Connie, there is a lever on the transaxle that can be pushed down. That disengages the drive motor and allows the cart to free wheel. An explanation with photos can be found on page 7: https://www.overlandcarts.com/pdfs/OverlandCarts-OwnersManual.pdf

Can I swap the hopper for a platform & back?

HI would like to know how much strength it takes to dump 750 lbs load. Looking at the power dump it this one is too heavy to dump.

Support
Jeremy Rupp

Hi Don, we recommend the power dump for the 9 cu ft hopper wagon because it is quite heavy to dump on your own. The wheelbarrow hoppers are easier to dump but the design of the 9 cu makes it more challenging.
